From first service Tuesday 28 January until approximately mid 2025, routes 195, 196 and some school buses will detour due to the closure of Belair Rd at Lynton.
Summary of Detour Impacts to Passengers
- Belair Rd will be closed due to essential maintenance works on the retaining wall below the Windy Point Lookout. More information is available here: Belair Road retaining wall upgrades
- On weekdays, buses will take a long detour at different times of the day in each direction.
- A shuttle bus will operate to cover as many of the closed stops as possible, linking Blackwood Interchange with the suburbs of Blackwood, Belair Glenalta and Hawthorndene. Details of the shuttle bus route are below.
- Buses will be delayed while operating via normal route and detouring. Allow extra travel time.

- Services will operate via normal route on weekends, unless otherwise advised, however passengers should allow for extra travel time.
Buses to City
Route 173 & 197X
Routes 173 and 197X will not be required to detour unless otherwise advised, however may experience delays.
Routes 195, 195F, 196 & 196F
Buses will operate via normal route from first service until approximately 1:00pm each weekday. The last bus to operate via normal route each weekday is the 196F departing Blackwood Interchange at 12:32pm.
After this time, buses will detour via Shepherds Hill Rd, Ayliffes Rd, Fiveash Dr, Goodwood Rd and Springbank Rd, missing all stops between Blackwood Interchange and Stop 18 Belair Rd - West side.
A shuttle bus will service as many of the closed stops as possible. Details of the shuttle bus are below, however the following stops will not be serviced at all during the time buses are detouring:
- Stop 27A Laffers Rd - South side
- Stop 27 Laffers Rd - South side
- Stop 21 Belair Rd - South side
- Stop 20B Belair Rd - North West side
- Stop 20A Belair Rd - North West side
- Stop 20 Belair Rd - South side
- Stop 19 Belair Rd - West side
Buses to Blackwood Interchange, Coromandel Station & Aldgate
Routes 195, 195F, 196 & 196F
Buses will detour via Springbank Rd, Goodwood Rd, Fiveash Dr, Ayliffes Rd and Shepherds Hill Rd at different times of the day each weekday:
- Buses will detour from first service until approximately 1:00pm.
- Buses will operate via normal route from approximately 1:00pm until approximately 6:00pm.
- The first bus to operate via normal route is the 195F departing Stop A3 King William Rd at 1:30pm.
- The last bus to operate via normal route is the 195F departing Stop A3 King William Rd at 5:15pm.
- Buses will detour from approximately 6:00pm until last service.
During the time that buses are detouring, all stops between Stop 18 Belair Rd - East side and Blackwood Interchange will be missed.
A shuttle bus will service as many of the closed stops as possible. Details of the shuttle bus are below, however the following stops will not be serviced at all during the time buses are detouring:
- Stop 19 Belair Rd - East side
- Stop 20 Belair Rd - East side
- Stop 20A Belair Rd - South East side
- Stop 20B Belair Rd - South East side

- Stop 21A Belair Rd - North side

- Stop 27A Laffers Rd - North side
Route 197X & 892
Routes 197X & 892 will not be required to detour unless otherwise advised, however may experience delays.
Shuttle Bus
During the time that route services are detouring away from Belair and Blackwood, a Shuttle Bus will operate to as many of the closed stops as can be serviced. Some stops may be serviced on the opposite side of the road to the usual direction of travel.
