Adelaide Metro has a range of contracted private regional transport providers to run bus services outside the metropolitan network.
Our regional transport services provide regular bus routes for schools and connections to smaller towns and centres. Regional bus services also offer connections between regional South Australia and metropolitan Adelaide.

Community Passenger Networks coordinate transport services for eligible people who are unable to access public transport due to distance, mobility, service availability, unable to drive themselves or are unable to access another person to transport them. Transport may be by vehicle with an accredited volunteer driver or referral to an appropriate local service. The Community Passenger Networks are a complementary service to the regional bus services and bookings for the Murray Mallee, Northern, Yorke Peninsula and Mid North regional medical bus services are managed by the providers of the Community Passenger Network in those regions.
The Community Passenger Network supports South Australians to access services and activities in the local community, taking passengers to:
- the local library or community centre
- supermarket
- bank
- pharmacy
- social events
- a medical appointment.

Additionally, there are over 430 school bus routes overseen by the Department for Education for eligible students living in regional South Australia. Information regarding these services and passenger eligibility is outlined on the getting to school page. For advice on your best option, contact your school or local council.
