Adelaide Metro is cashless
When: From Monday 30 March 2020
Adelaide Metro is cashless
From Monday 30 March 2020, Adelaide Metro staff and bus drivers will no longer accept cash to purchase tickets or add credit to metroCARDs.
This change is part of our efforts to protect staff and passengers during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Cash is no longer accepted at the Adelaide Railway Station InfoCentre or on our public transport network other than via ticket vending machines.
Customers who attend the InfoCentre with cash will be directed to the vending machines at Adelaide Railway Station.

I am a bus passenger, does this mean I can’t buy a ticket from the driver?
Bus drivers no longer sell tickets.
All bus passengers must travel with a valid metroCARD or a pre-purchased paper ticket.
To help passengers, additional metroCARD and ticket vending and recharge machines that accept coins and credit cards will be installed in a number of locations that have existing recharge only machines.
