Bicycles/push-bikes

Bikes cannot be taken on buses or trams, as there is nowhere to secure your bike and not enough space for other passengers to move around safely.

Bikes can be taken on trains, which can be secured in an empty wheelchair space during your trip. Bikes will need to be moved if someone using a mobility aid needs the area.

Bike lockers:

To hire a bike locker, a $50 deposit is needed to secure it and is refunded when you return the key.

Visit the InfoCentre at Adelaide Railway Station or call the InfoLine on 1300 311 108 to:

  • find a bike locker that is available,
  • put a locker on hold,
  • join the waiting list.

Bike cages:

Bike cages are free for public transport users and must be managed via a registered metroCARD.

To set up bike cage access, you can contact Adelaide Metro by:

  • visiting the InfoCentre at Adelaide Railway Station,
  • calling the Adelaide Metro InfoLine on 1300 311 108.
    • Please note: Before accessing a bike cage, you will need to validate your metroCARD on board a bus, train or tram or at a barrier gate.

You can open bike cages by tapping your metroCARD on the validator at the entrance.

Bicycles and helmets are stored at your own risk, please secure your bike to a rail with an appropriate lock. We do not recommend you leave anything in the bike cages overnight and anything left in the cage for more than 2 weeks will be removed.
