Volunteer Program
The Rail Care SA volunteer program supports over 170 likeminded volunteers across 41 Adelaide Metro rail networks, working together to build a better, brighter community.
Volunteering with us means creating a welcoming and attractive environment for commuters and visitors across Adelaide, whilst promoting sustainability and biodiversity.
Joining the Rail Care volunteer program involves hands on gardening and maintenance care for multiple railway networks, whilst building community, friendship and transforming stops alongside our public art projects.
Before you can register for our volunteer program, please read the guidelines for further information on volunteering in SA.
Our Gardens in Adelaide
Our rail gardens in Adelaide are maintained by our Rail Care volunteers, who foster a sense of community care and pride in the local area through sustainable gardening. This includes projects such as the Bee and Butterfly Garden that is thriving with the use of native vegetation and native bee areas, located under the Ovingham bridge and Seacliff train station.
