Ticketing system upgrade outage

From 7.00 pm Friday 22 November to 9.00 am Sunday 24 November 2024, we are updating our ticketing software.

During this time, the following services will be affected:

metroCARD online

During the software update, you will not be able to log into your metroCARD account to manage or recharge your metroCARD.

Customer care services

During the software update, our InfoLine and InfoCentre team will not be able to offer support with some metroCARD issues (like refunding money or transferring funds from one metroCARD to another).

Tap and Pay tickets

During the software update, you will not be able to buy a Tap and Pay ticket on most buses and trams.

How to travel during the outage

During the software update, please:

  • Recharge your metroCARD online before 7.00 pm on Friday 22 November or during normal weekend opening hours at one of these retailers or facilities.
  • Contact our InfoLine or InfoCentre after 9.00 am on Sunday for help with metroCARD-related problems.
  • Use the Buy & Go app or a metroCARD instead of Tap and Pay. Our bus drivers, customer service officers and inspectors are aware of the situation, and will work with you if you have problems.

We chose this time to update our software to minimise the impact on passengers. Our dedicated team and partners are working right through the weekend to complete this essential software update, which contributes to keeping everything running smoothly and safely.
