New concession travel for Health Care Card holders

01 Jan 2025

From 1 January 2025, Health Care Card holders will be entitled to concession fares on all Adelaide Metro services, and regional bus services contracted by the Department for Infrastructure and Transport.

These concessions are here to help the nearly 15,000 South Australians with a Health Care Card manage the cost of living more easily.

For concession travel with your Health Care Card, make sure you:

What you need to know

  • A concession fare can be accessed by using a concession metroCARD, the Buy & Go app and paper tickets.
  • Only the Health Care Card Holder is eligible for concession travel. Any listed dependents will need to have their own Health Care Card to travel on a concession fare.
  • Customers must travel with both a current Health Care Card and a validated concession fare, and present this upon request from a Prescribed Officer or Authorised Officer.
