The current Jane Street, West Croydon pedestrian crossing will be closed from November to December 2024 due to upgrades to improve pedestrian access and safety.

To accommodate the Jane Street, West Croydon pedestrian crossing upgrade, the Outer Harbor rail line will be closed on two occasions between November and December 2024.

There will be an Active Pedestrian Crossing installed which will automatically close the pedestrian gates when a train is approaching the crossing. Alarms and signals will also let pedestrians know it is unsafe to cross.

The upgrade will include:

  • Demolition of the existing pedestrian crossing.
  • Installation of a new Active Pedestrian Crossing.
  • Accessible ramps for safe crossing of the railway line.
  • New emergency help phones.
  • Improved Public Announcement speaker.
  • CCTV installed on new light poles and in the underpass.

During the line closures, substitute bus services will replace all Outer Harbor train services between the Adelaide Railway Station and the Outer Harbor, Port Dock and Grange Railway Stations.

We thank Adelaide Metro customers for their patience while we undertake these important works.
