Planned closures and maintenance
Sometimes, train and tram lines, stations, bus stops or interchanges need to close for maintenance, cleaning or upgrading.
Planned closures are generally part of a long-term project, which means your bus, train or trams could be affected.
Planned maintenance is a short-term piece of work that is usually done overnight so it doesn't impact on passenger services. There might be general traffic detours, temporary road closures, or extra light or noise while work is being done.

Bus:
From May 9, 2021, until further notice there will be long term changes to stops on the western side of King William Street (heading toward North Adelaide) due to building work.
- Stop U1 on Victoria Square has been removed.
- Stop U2 on Victoria Square has been moved 35m south (toward South Terrace).
- Stop V1 has been moved 50m south (toward South Terrace).
Due to long term redevelopment works at the Adelaide Central Market, the following bus stop changes will apply:
- Stop W1 Grote Street will be used 2:00pm until 7:00pm each Monday to Friday. All other times W1 will be a loading Zone for the market and Passengers are required to go to stop W2 Grote Street
- 241, 245, 248, 263, 265, N262 routes will continue to service Stop W2 Grote Street at all times.
From Tuesday 4 October 2022 until further notice, stop 10 Greenhill Rd heading to the city will be closed due to construction works.
147 and AO13 passengers are directed to Stop 9 Greenhill Rd.
580, 820, 821 and 822 passengers are directed to Stop 9 Greenhill Rd or Stop 10 Greenhill Rd.
From Tuesday 8 August 2023 until further notice, Stop 45 Newland Ave - South East side will be closed.
Passengers should use Stop 46 Newland Ave - West side (approximately 120m south)
From Tuesday 26 September 2023 until further notice, Stop 8 The Parade - South side will be temporarily relocated approximately 60m east.
From first service on Monday 8 April until further notice, Stop 9A Duthy St - East side will be temporarily relocated approximately 120m north of current location due to housing construction works.
From Monday 22 April, Stop 29 Main South Rd - South East side will be closed due to building works until further noticed.
Passengers should use Stop 28 Main South Rd - South East side until the building works are completed.
From Friday 19 July until further notice (approximately December 2024), 229, 229F, 229X and School Bus 481 services will detour away from Pratt Ave, Pooraka due to works being undertaken by the City of Salisbury to reconstruct a bridge.
Details of the detour route, closed stops and alternative stops are below.
Route 229, 229F, 229X toward Para HillsServices will detour from Pratt Ave via Alfred St, South Tce, Bridge Rd and the eastern section of Pratt Ave, returning to normal route on Quinlivan Rd, servicing all stops on the normal route.
Stop 34 Pratt Ave - North side will be relocated to the eastern side of Alfred St, just south of Pratt Ave. Stop 33 Bridge Rd - West side and Stop 34 Bridge Rd - West side will also be serviced on the detour route.
Route 229, 229F, 229X toward Gepps Cross & City
Services will detour from Montague Rd via Bridge Rd, South Tce and Alfred St, returning to normal route on the western section of Pratt Ave.
Stop 37A Montgaue Rd - South side, and all bus stops on Muriel Dr, Barakoola St and Quinlivan Rd in this direction will be closed. Stop 34 Pratt Ave - South side will be relocated to the western side of Alfred St, just south of Pratt Ave.

School Bus 481
In order to maintain the reliability of School Bus 481 during the closure of Pratt Ave, the route will be altered.
Details of the change to the route of this School Bus will be communicated directly to the schools where students are impacted.

From first bus service Wednesday 24 July until further notice, Stop 2 Frome Rd - South West side will be relocated 20 metres north due to works associated with the Frome Road Bikeway project.
From Monday 19 August until further notice, Stop 68H Womma Rd - South side, Penfield is moving 250 metres east due to construction work.
From Wednesday 18 September until further notice, Stop 55 John Rice Ave - South East side will be relocated 220 metres east due to construction work at the existing bus stop.
