Temporary partial Belair line closure

The Belair line will be temporarily closed between Blackwood Station and Belair Station from first service Thursday 21 January last service to Tuesday 26 January 2021, with substitute buses in place.

Trains will continue to run between Blackwood Station and Adelaide Railway Station.

The partial closure will facilitate works for the Pinera Bridge Repainting Project that cannot be safely undertaken with trains running.

New Flinders Railway Line

Gawler rail line closures

A full closure of the Gawler line will be in place from Saturday 26 December 2020 (Boxing Day) to Sunday 25 April 2021 to facilitate Gawler Rail Electrification Project works. Substitute buses will be in place.

A range of closures are taking place across the Gawler rail line for these project works, including temporary partial and full line closures into late 2021.

As part of the Regency Road to Pym Street Project (R2P), the Pym Street east-west connectivity across South Road, Croydon Park will be permanently removed.

We have listened to the feedback to date and the clear message from our valued customers has been that they want the current network to remain.

Hospital staff travel FREE on public transport

The State Government is providing Hospital workers FREE travel on South Australia’s public transport system during the coronavirus pandemic to support frontline hospital staff in their lifesaving work to protect the health of South Australians.

This covers doctors, nurses, administration, cleaners and other support staff. Please show your Hospital ID when boarding to take advantage of these services.

Adelaide Metro and the Department for Infrastructure and Transport would like to thank hospital workers during these times.

Bus Stop Management Plan

The Department for Infrastructure and Transport (DIT) is seeking to improve the travel times of Adelaide Metro services for commuters by investigating the location of bus stops along key service corridors.

The Bus Stop Management Plan project includes investigating the potential location of stops and shelters that may better serve Adelaide Metro passengers, and identifying how different bus stop configurations may improve travel times whilst also maintaining good levels of accessibility.

Bus stops and shelters will be relocated, removed or indented as part of the plan. Changes are based on DIT patronage, operational and road safety data.

Grange Road, South Road, Magill Road and The Parade will be receiving bus stop changes from 6 April 2020.

Same day metroCARD recharge now available

Customers who perform a recharge to their metroCARD online or via the InfoLine will now have their recharge available on their metroCARD within an hour of performing the recharge.

Adelaide Metro provides direct and easy access to priority seating on all trains and trams for passengers with a disability, who are pregnant or less able to stand. Allocated spaces are available for passengers with a mobility device.

New and improved digital stops

Public transport accessibility continues to be improved for passengers, with the further installation of digital bus and tram stops around metropolitan Adelaide in 2020.

Works for the digital bus and tram stops are close to completion with North Terrace and Elizabeth Interchange signs to be powered in July

These digital public transport stops are in addition to the installation and upgrade of 50+ digital bus and tram stops that have been completed around metropolitan Adelaide.

Practise good hygiene, maintain physical distance from others where possible, and stay home if unwell.
