Proud supporter of the TrackSAFE Foundation
At the Department for Infrastructure and Transport (DIT) and Adelaide Metro, we recognise that rail organisations need assistance from the broader community, including educational and community service groups, governments and road user groups to ensure safety on our rail networks.
Established in 2012 by the Australian rail industry, TrackSAFE offers trauma-related support to rail workers and specialises in rail suicide prevention, as well as level crossing and track safety. That’s why we are a founding member of the TrackSAFE Foundation; a harm-prevention charity dedicated to reducing near collisions, injuries and fatalities on the rail network resulting from reckless behaviour and human error.
The Foundation encourages an environment of ongoing support through its major initiative Rail R U OK?Day. The Foundation has partnered with R U OK? to deliver this annual event and is striving towards an industry where everyone cares to ask “are you ok?” each and every day.
TrackSAFE also coordinates the annual community awareness initiative, Rail Safety Week, held in August each year, designed to engage the community in safe rail practices.
DIT and Adelaide Metro proudly support the TrackSAFE Foundation and its Rail R U OK?Day and Rail Safety Week events each year.
