Using Nomad OnBoard

SCREEN 1 “Home” Tab: Nomad OnBoard will always open to this screen, with the selected Timetable and the Departure and Arrival points listed. Keypad 1 will give you a list of your downloaded timetables to choose from. Keypad 3 or 4 will provide a list of available stops/stations for you to choose from, for both arrival and departure locations. When you close Nomad OnBoard it will always “remember” your last settings upon reopening.

SCREEN 2a “Times” Tab: Use the Left/Right Navigation Button to move to this Tab. This screen lists the next series of departures from your chosen stop/station with the arrival time at your chosen destination. By pressing Keypad 7 (in this instance) you will see the next 5 services and so on for up to 24 hours ahead. Nomad OnBoard will automatically show you day changes and it also takes into account weekends and public holidays.

NOMAD ONBOARD UPDATES:
On this screen, pressing the corresponding Keypad Number, or using the Soft Key “Options” or the “Fire” Button (when a number is highlighted), you are choosing to use the GPRS network to gain an update about that particular service. (This action will accrue data charges from your service provider. Please note: Adelaide Metro and Laborotech make no income from this data charge.) By updating 3> or 4> you will gain any information relevant to that particular stop/station - eg, number of car parks, video surveillance, ticket sales. By updating any of the other numbers, you will gain information about the entire network, and/or that particular service. For example, if there has been industrial action and the whole network is down for two hours, you will find out about it here. If your particular service is delayed for any reason, you will know why, how late it is and what other arrangements are planned. (Screen 2b is an example of an update message - use the navigation key to scroll down the messages on this screen.)

SCREEN 3 “Info” Tab: Use the Left/Right Navigation Button to move to this Tab. This screen will show you the full schedule of your chosen service. Your two stops/stations will be in bold. An arrow will point at the stop/station your service is approaching. If it has already left your departure station, it will be shown in an font on the “Times” Tab. This will also show whether your service is an express as it only shows stations your service will stop at. REMEMBER: Use the 0 key at any time to bring up HELP for that particular screen.

Using a different bus, train or tram service

Sometimes you might have to use a different bus, train or the tram. Don’t worry, with Nomad OnBoard you can download as many timetables as your phone memory will allow. You can add timetables for the cost of a data call and then just select the timetable you require.

Attention Nomads OnTrack users

If you travel on the train or tram and have Nomads OnTrack installed on your Java equipped mobile phone you will have to upgrade to the new version. See the “How do I download Nomad OnBoard” section to upgrade your version. Nomads OnTrack users should delete the old version before upgrading to ensure there is enough free memory on their phone.
