Reduce Greenhouse Gas Emissions
To prevent global warming leave your car at home and use Adelaide Metro public transport.
Benefits
You can reduce greenhouse gas emissions by up to 3.1 tonnes a year by using public transport.
If you drive 25 kilometres to work every day, this trip will produce up to 3.1 tonnes of greenhouse gases annually, as well as urban air pollutants. You can play a part in helping the environment by using public transport and leaving the car at home! The more people using public transport means there are fewer cars on the road. Each kilometre you save by not driving your car to work means less fuel burnt, reducing urban air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions. A family car generates up to a third of a kilogram of greenhouse gases per kilometre. Every litre of petrol saved reduces greenhouse gas emissions by 2.5 kilograms.

Adelaide Metro is a healthier alternative
South Australian greenhouse gas emissions from transport
by vehicle category
If 5,100 people caught public transport instead of driving their car 10kms to work each day, green house gas emissions would be reduced by 7,000 tonnes per year.
