UPDATE 10 JULY: Bus Stop Management Plan - Glen Osmond Road

When: From Saturday 22 July 2017

UPDATE 10 JULY: Bus Stop Management Plan - Glen Osmond Road

The Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure (DPTI) is seeking to improve the travel times of Adelaide Metro services along Glen Osmond Road through customer feedback around possible relocation or removal of some bus stops.

As part of the Bus Stop Management Plan for Glen Osmond Road, the following changes will occur from first service Saturday 22 July 2017:

  • Stop 3 to the city will be relocated approximately 125 metres north (northern side of the Young Street intersection)
  • Stop 8 from the city will be relocated approximately 173 metres north (northern side of the Conyngham Road intersection)

The Bus Stop Management Plan project includes:

  • investigating the potential relocation of stops and shelters that may better serve Adelaide Metro passengers
  • identifying how different bus stop configurations may improve travel times whilst maintaining good levels of accessibility
  • A number of bus stops and shelters could be relocated, removed or proposed for indentation as part of the plan.  These proposals are based on DPTI patronage, operational and road safety data.

DPTI sought public feedback in late 2016 on proposed changes to bus stop locations along both Goodwood Road and Glen Osmond Road. After careful consideration of the feedback received from the community, DPTI made the below final decisions on bus stop locations.

This project is part of Operation Moving Traffic, a South Australian Government initiative to improve the efficiency, reliability and safety of the transport network.
