Bowden Railway Station city bound platform closure
When: From Tuesday 11 April 2017
As part of the Torrens Rail Junction Project, the city bound platform at Bowden Railway Station will be closed from last service Tuesday 11 April 2017 until the end of October 2017, in preparation for the future lowering of the Outer Harbor passenger rail line.
Passengers who usually board or alight at the city bound platform are encouraged to use nearby alternative public transport services as listed below.
The outbound platform will remain open until September 2017.
There will be no change to train timetables on the Grange or Outer Harbor train lines.
- Bowden passengers alighting at Croydon are advised they can catch 150 bus services from stop 10 Port Road to North Terrace near Adelaide Railway Station approximately every 15 minutes during the day or 30 minutes at night/weekends (approximately 300m walk/4 minutes via Queen Street)
- If passengers wish to alight near Bowden station they can do so at stop 6 Port Road
- Passengers who usually catch the tram at Bowden to the city are advised they can catch a free tram from the Entertainment Centre stop or a 150 bus service from Port Road
Please be aware that the Outer Harbor/Grange line will be fully closed from the first service Friday 14 April 2017 and reopening for first service Anzac Day Tuesday 25 April 2017. Further information is available here
Works will be managed to minimise disturbance to local residents, however some noise can be expected.
