A special timetable will operate for round 23 for all Adelaide Oval Express services.  Please download the AFL Round 23 Timetable PDF (131 KB). 

Plan your travel to Adelaide Oval

Don’t leave it too late and miss the bounce at Adelaide Oval.

In addition to regular scheduled services, there are also special bus and rail services to Adelaide Oval two hours before the game commences.
Make sure you plan your travel, and allow plenty of time to get to the Oval and settled in to avoid the queues and any delays in travel.

Footy Express Guide

You get FREE travel on regular Adelaide Metro services when you show your AFL game ticket, member pass or season ticket, however Adelaide Metro recommends that patrons use dedicated Adelaide Oval Footy Express services to alleviate overcrowding on regular services and get you closer to the oval.

Train information

Adelaide Oval Footy Express train services will operate to a high frequency before and after the game, travelling to and from Adelaide Railway Station, a short walk to Adelaide Oval.

Normal timetabled services will operate on all train lines with additional Adelaide Oval Footy Express services operating to major interchanges as shown below.

Seaford line

Operating to a 15 minute frequency 2 hours before the game from Seaford, Seaford Meadows, Noarlunga Centre, Hallett Cove Beach, Hallett Cove, Brighton, Oaklands & Adelaide Showground.
For next game (round 23) the first Adelaide Oval Footy Express train departs from Seaford at 11:15am.

Gawler line

Operating to a 15 minute frequency 2 hours before the game from Gawler Central, Gawler, Munno Parra, Smithfield Interchange, Elizabeth Interchange, Salisbury Interchange & Mawson Interchange.
For next game (round 23) the first Adelaide Oval Footy Express train departs from Gawler Central at 11:37am.

Outer Harbor line

Operating to a 15 minute frequency 2 hours before the game at all stations between Osborne & Woodville stopping all stations.
For next game (round 23) the first Adelaide Oval Footy Express train departs from Osborne at 11:44am.

Grange line

Operating to a 30 minute frequency 2 hours before the game stopping all stations.
For next game (round 23) the first Adelaide Oval Footy Express train departs from Grange at 12:03pm.

Belair line

Operating to a 30 minute frequency 2 hours before the game stopping all stations.
For next game (round 23) the first Adelaide Oval Footy Express train departs from Belair at 11:44am.

 Tram information

Adelaide Oval Footy Express tram services will operate to a high frequency to and from North Terrace, with special measures in place to ensure the safety of the large number of passengers.

Getting on & off the tram

Trams will service all stops between Glenelg and the Entertainment Centre.

Boarding the trams after the game at Adelaide Railway Station tram stop will be a different to normal, so please check the tram boarding information below.

Tram service to the game

  • Services from Glenelg operate every 5-10 minutes 2 hours before the game.
  • Services from the Entertainment Centre operate every 5-10 minutes 1½ hours before the game.

Tram services from the game

  • Services will operate to a very high frequency for approximately 1½ hours before reverting back to the normal timetable.
  • Please access North Terrace via Adelaide Railway Station.
  • Passengers to Glenelg access North Terrace via the escalators or ramp in the station.
  • Passengers to the Entertainment Centre access North Terrace via the station underpass.
  • Passenger Service Assistant will be in place to manage passengers safety.

Adelaide Oval Footy Express bus services

The Adelaide Oval Footy Express bus interchange is on King William Road between North Terrace and Victoria Drive, with some services using North Terrace and Victoria Drive. Bus services will operate from many suburban stops. Some services will pick up at all stops on the route, while others will stop at limited stops.

Services will drop off as close to Adelaide Oval as possible. 

Bus services from the game
Services will not pick up at regular Adelaide Metro stops in the city.  They operate only to dedicated Adelaide Oval Express stops shown on the Footy Express Interchange map PDF (76.4KB).

Many Adelaide Metro bus stops on King William Road, King William Street, North Terrace and Montefiore Road will be closed for several hours during events at Adelaide Oval.  Continue reading>>
